Yankees Complete Three-Game Sweep of White Sox
Published at(NEW YORK) — CC Sabathia pitched 7 1/3 strong innings and Mariano Rivera earned his first four batter save in more than two years as the New York Yankees topped the Chicago White Sox 6-5 Wednesday.
The win completes a three-game sweep of the White Sox (56-82) and places the Yankees (75-64) only 2 1/2 games behind Tampa Bay for the final American League Wild Card.
Robinson Cano went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the win.
The Yankees will now play four games at home versus the first place Red Sox.
Game 1 is tonight. Jake Peavy (11-5) will oppose Yankees starter Ivan Nova (8-4).
