Yankees Shut Down C.C. Sabathia For Remainder Of The Season
Published atNEW YORK) — The New York Yankees shut down left-handed starting pitcher C.C. Sabathia for the remainder of the season on Monday, after he was diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. He is expected to need approximately eight weeks to recover.
The 33-year-old Sabathia suffered the injury during last Friday night’s 5-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants, in which he gave up one earned run over seven innings of work.
The six-time All-Star finishes the 2013 campaign with a 14-13 record and 4.78 ERA in 32 starts. He struck out 175 batters in 211 innings of work.
