(YELLOWSTONE, NP) – Yellowstone National Park officials are closing off a section in the southwest corner of the park to remove an illegal trail. Ranger Tim Reid says the 5-mile trail is in the Boundary Creek drainage, and has been frequently traveled by livestock users. He says the trail has become popular because it goes into the Bechler area and passes thermal features along the creek. Bechler can be reached by a legal trail, though it’s a little longer. The area will remain closed for at least a year.
