(4) Ohio State Stops (16) Northwestern, 40-30 For 18th Straight Win

ThinkStock(EVANSTON, Ill.) — Senior running back Carlos Hyde rushed for a career-high 168 yards and three touchdowns as No. 4 Ohio State (6-0, 2-0 Big 10) outlasted No. 16 Northwestern (4-1, 0-1 Big 10) on Saturday, 40-30. The victory extends the Buckeyes winning streak to 18 games.

With Ohio State trailing 30-27 late in the fourth quarter, Hyde put the Buckeyes ahead for good with a seven yard touchdown run. He scored all three of his T-D’s in the second half.

The Wildcats threaten to retake the lead with 2:43 left in the game, but senior quarterback Kain Colter was stopped on fourth-and-1 at the Ohio State 34.
