(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – About 2,600 workers at the Idaho National Laboratory will be furloughed later this month. Officials say the workers are all Battelle Energy Alliance employees, and that the furloughs are a direct result of the current standstill in Washington over the budget. Those impacted will not lose their health care benefits and have the option of using their earned personal leave. They may also take the time off without pay. The furloughs are scheduled to go into effect October 18.
