During the offseason, the Clippers managed to hire former Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers to replace Vinny Del Negro. Griffin says the team is moving on from what made them household names.

“Lob City doesn’t exist anymore. Lob City is done,” Griffin told ESPN’s Shelley Smith. “We’re moving on and we’re going to find our own identity during training camp and that will be our new city. No more Lob City.”

Last season, the Clippers won a franchise-high 56 games, but decided that Rivers was the missing piece they needed to mold the team into legitimate title contenders.

“Our offense is going to have an totally different look this year,” Griffin added. “Our offense is going to have a lot of movement and floor.”

The 24-year old Griffin is one of the most exciting players in the NBA, but his points and rebounds have steadily decreased since his rookie year in 2010-2011.
