Bruins’ Last-Second Goal Hands Sharks First Regulation Loss
Published at(BOSTON) — David Krejci redirected Adam McQuaid’s shot between Antti Niemi’s legs with less than a second to go in the game, as the Boston Bruins defeated the San Jose Sharks 2-1 Thursday night.
San Jose (8-1-1, 17 pts) suffered its first regulation loss of the season.
The Sharks had plenty of opportunities to score, peppering 39 shots on B’s goalie Tuukka Rask. But Rask’s only blemish happened 18 seconds into the third period when Patrick Marleau slipped his eighth goal of the season past the Bruins’ netminder.
Jerome Iginla scored his first goal as a member of the Bruins (7-2-0, 14 pts), who have now won four straight.
