(BOISE, ID) – The Federal Election Commission is demanding that former U.S. Senator Larry Craig pay $140,000 in fines related to his legal defense after his arrest in a 2007 airport sex sting. Craig is accused of using campaign funds to finance part of his legal fees, which he maintains was legal because his arrest occurred while he was engaging in his official duties as Senator. Federal authorities are also ordering Craig to pay back more than $216,000 in campaign funds.
