Dalton Throws 5 TD’s as Bengals Decimate Jets

Getty S 111212 Dalton?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1382919056447Andy Lyons/Getty Images(CINCINNATI) — Andy Dalton threw for five touchdowns, four to receiver Marvin Jones, leading the Cincinnati Bengals to a 49-9 thrashing of the New York Jets Sunday.

The Jets (4-4) came into the game ranked fourth in total defense, but that didn’t stop the Bengals from putting up 402 total yards, including 323 yards through the air.

The Bengals started their scoring onslaught immediately, as Dalton led the team on an 80-yard scoring drive on its first possession, ending with Dalton finding Jones for a nine-yard touchdown.

Jones, a second-year receiver out of California, finished the day with eight catches for 122 yards and those four touchdowns, which set a team record.

Meanwhile, Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith had a rough afternoon. Smith thew two picks-six and no touchdowns in the loss.

The Bengals (6-2) have now won four in a row and sit atop the AFC North by by two games in the loss column over the Baltimore Ravens.
