(BOISE, ID) – State Senate Majority Leader Bart Davis is reaching out in forgiveness to the man who killed his son more than a decade ago. Earlier this year, the Idaho Falls Republican spoke in favor of the release of Vincent Olsen, who shot his son Cameron at a keg party in Boise. Olsen, who was serving a 25-year manslaughter sentence, could be released on parole this week. Davis cited the similarities between his own family and that of Olsen’s, their shared faith, and his desire to seek Olsen live a better life outside prison. Davis says it will help provide peace and closure for both families.
