“I just think that despite what ever happened, there was a lot of things that I did and we did as a team, and that number was special down there,” Howard told the Orlando Sentinel. “And I was a little upset about that.”

Howard wore the number 12 jersey for all eight of his seasons with the Magic. And after the Magic traded Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Magic acquired forward Tobias Harris last season, who now wears the number 12 jersey.

During Howard’s time in Orlando, he established himself as one of the best centers in the NBA. He helped take the Magic to the NBA Finals during the 2008-2009 season, and won three straight NBA Defensive Player of the Year Awards.
