(NEW YORK) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed in principle to trade offensive tackle Eugene Monroe to the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter
In exchange for Monroe, the Ravens will send multiple late round draft picks to the Ravens. The deal is pending a physical.
The 26-year-old Monroe was a first round draft pick of the Jaguars back in 2009. He has started 62 games over the past five seasons.
Since Monroe is in the final year of his contract, the rebuilding Jaguars wanted to trade him now and receive future assets in return. If it works out in Baltimore, he could be looking at a long-term deal with the Ravens.
The Ravens could use the assistance up front. They’ve rushed for just 256 yards this season and have allowed 12 sacks in four games.
