Furloughs Coming Soon at INL
Published at | Updated at
(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Unless Congress reaches a compromise on the 2014 budget, more than half of the employees at the Idaho National Laboratory could be placed on furlough as soon as Thursday. Local News 8 reports that the U.S. Department of Energy can only continue funding certain operations for a few more weeks before they run out of money. Officials fear that the furloughs could have an adverse effect on some local businesses, who rely primarily on customers from the INL on a daily basis.
