(CINCINNATI) — Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith will get all that he can handle on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals (5-2) defense.
Smith and the Jets (4-3) are coming off an overtime win over the New England Patriots last Sunday and will face another solid defensive team.
“They present a number of challenges,” Smith said. “They have great guys, veteran guys in the secondary. They have a very tough linebacking core of guys who come down and hit. Their d-line is one of the best out there. They’re stacked at every position.”
“We’ve gotta go into the game with the right mindset and just got out there and execute the game plan,” he continued.
The Bengals are looking for their fourth consecutive victory with quarterback Andy Dalton at the helm.
Dalton has completed 67.6 percent of his passes for 709 yards with six touchdowns so far this season.
“They’re physical up front, they’re pretty good,” Dalton said of the Jets defense. “They rank so well in the run defense and all that kind of stuff. It’s going to be another good challenge for the offensive line.”
