The report came from Pro Football Talk, citing agent Drew Rosenhaus.

“Rob [Gronkowski] has now been cleared by all his doctors to play in Sunday in the Jets game,” Rosenhaus told PFT.

Gronkowski’s return comes after an offseason of back and forearm surgeries.

The Patriots have been plagued by injuries this season. Jerod Mayo is the latest to suffer an injury. They’ve also lost Vince Wilfork for the season and wide receiver Danny Amendola has battled injuries through six games.

At the Patriots Friday morning press conference, head coach Bill Belichick did not say whether Gronkowski would actually play on the field on Sunday.
