Health Insurance CEOs to Meet with Top Officials at White House

U.S. Department of Health & Human Services(WASHINGTON) — Health insurance CEOs are meeting with senior administration officials at the White House on Wednesday, as the Obama administration continues to do damage control over the botched health care rollout.
Insurance executives will huddle with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, Deputy Assistant to the President for Health Policy Chris Jennings and Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett, a White House official confirms.
While the White House has not yet released a list of the participants, WellPoint CEO Joseph Swedish and the chief lobbyist for health insurers, Karen Ignagni of AHIP, are reportedly attending.
Wednesday’s meeting comes on the same day that senior HHS officials are briefing House Democrats on the Hill on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
