Hiring to Remain Stable in Fourth Quarter, CareerBuilder Says

That’s consistent with the hiring trends that have been going on throughout 2013.

“Hiring remains stable. We’ve seen this throughout the entire year.  And we expect that trend to continue into 2014,” Michael Erwin, a senior career adviser at CareerBuilder, tells ABC News Radio.

But the latest projection likely won’t be enough to make a major change in the jobs market.

“We continue to hear from employers who tell us that they are adding headcount, maybe not at the numbers or the rate that we would like to or that happened in past recessions,” he says.

One of the fields getting those new hires is manufacturing.

“Manufacturing, financial services are definitely coming back,” says Erwin.

But the same can’t be said for health care and IT businesses.  Both areas “were strong throughout the entire recession.  But we’re seeing those kind of level out while other industries come back stronger,” he notes.
