The blinged-out, limited-edition case features both solid gold and diamonds to decorate the smartphone.  The back of the case features the shape of a solitaire diamond ring, with real stones making up the shape of the “diamond.”

Created by jeweler Akiyama Co., the gold iPhone case for both iPhone 5 and 5S models is made of 18-carat yellow gold, and features 207 diamonds weighing 1.71 carats in total.  For the less ostentatious, a silver and cubic zirconia version can be had for a more economical $3,800.

Akiyama’s president Yutaro Akiyama tells The Wall Street Journal that the target audience of the product is wealthy women in their 40s and 50s, and that only 15 gold and 15 silver cases will be produced.  So far, he revealed, only one order has been placed — for a silver version.
