Foster was spotted Sunday having an intimate breakfast in Los Angeles with photographer Alexandra Hedison, for the first time since rumors broke that the pair are dating.

The Panic Room actress could be seen eating food from Hedison’s plate as the two dined al fresco. Later the casually dressed pair appeared relaxed as they strolled from the restaurant.

“It’s pretty serious,” a source told E! Online of Foster and Hedison. “They’re totally in love.”

Online chatter about the pair began this past summer when they were photographed together at a technology seminar at Fox Studios in Los Angeles and out to dinner with friends a few days later.

Hedison, 44, is the first woman Foster, 50, has been linked to since her much-talked about speech in January after accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Globes. In her speech, Foster reiterated her need for privacy, but also thanked the “deepest love of her life,” her “ex-partner in love but righteous soul sister in life,” Cydney Bernard. Co-parents to sons Charles and Kit, Bernard and Foster called it quits after 20 years in 2008.

Foster’s rep did not respond immediately to ABC News’ request for comment about the actress and Hedison.

Keep reading to learn five things you may not have known about Foster’s possible new love.

She Has a Famous Ex

Hedison began dating Ellen DeGeneres in 2001 after the talk show host’s breakup with Anne Heche. After meeting through friends, Hedison and DeGeneres began living together about a year into their romance. They remained together until 2004, when the talk show host left Hedison for Portia de Rossi.

She’s a Photographer

A contemporary photographer, Hedison’s abstract landscapes have been shown in New York and Los Angeles. She picked up her childhood hobby of taking pictures while taking a break from acting.

She’s Also an Actress

Hedison has appeared in several television shows, including the original Melrose Place and Nash Bridges. She stopped for a few years because ”I was supporting myself, but I was miserable,” she told The New York Times. ”Actors need to be front and center all the time. That’s not me.” In 2006, she returned on screen to play Dylan Moreland on Showtime’s hit lesbian drama series, The L Word, for three seasons.

She Was Raised in Hollywood

Hedison’s father, David Hedison, is an actor with a long career in television and movies. He starred in the 1958 horror classic The Fly. He also played James Bond’s ally Felix Leiter in two movies, Live and Let Die and License to Kill and appeared on the soaps Another World and Young and the Restless.

She Hosted a Reality Show

During her stint on The L Word, Hedison hosted the A&E reality show Designing Blind, with designer Eric Brun-Sanglard, who is blind. In addition to hosting the show, Hedison worked as Brun-Sanglard’s “sighted assistant.”
