At the ceremony, Moore said she started acting in high school because she loved to read and it was a way for her to imagine she was inside the story.  The actress said on Thursday she was shocked by the honor.

“I never expected this, I really didn’t.  I’m thrilled and shocked to be included in this community on the Walk of Fame,” she said.

Moore can currently be seen in Don Jon.  The film’s director and Moore’s co-star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, attended Thursday’s ceremony and said working with the actress upped his acting game.

“She’s not faking it when she’s performing.  She’s feeling the things that the character is feeling,” Levitt said.

Moore also co-stars in the Carrie remake, which opens nationwide on Oct. 18.
