Kurt Busch finished in second, followed by his teammate Jeff Gordon, Joey Logano, and Carl Edwards rounded out the top-five.

Harvick pulled away from Busch and Gordon during a late restart and never looked back.

“These guys just did a great job all weekend,” Harvick said. “To have a car fast enough for me to qualify on the pole says a lot about how fast this thing is.”

Kyle Busch dropped from third in points to fifth, 35 out of first place after his wreck on Sunday.

“I have no idea what happened, but it’s Kansas. It’s what we do here, we just crash,” Busch said. “The racetrack is the worst racetrack I’ve ever driven on. The tires are the worst tires I’ve ever driven on, and track position is everything. You can’t do anything.”

Jimmie Johnson finished in sixth and put himself in second, three points behind leader Matt Kenseth.

The Sprint Cup series heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday night.
