“He’ll suit up for the first game,” Head coach Rick Pitino said. “Whether he gets in or not, we’ll see.”

Pitino continued that Ware will be ready to join the team for full practice on Nov. 1.

“He’s taking it slow,” Pitino added. “People want to see him on the court healthy. We want to see him flourishing.”

Ware suffered an open fracture to his right leg during the team’s Elite Eight game against Duke.

He was cleared to play last week after a lengthy rehab process. Ware is now working on getting into game shape and getting ready for basketball activities.

Ware is entering his Junior year with the Cardinals. Last season, he averaged 4.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Louisville open their season Nov. 9 against Charleston.
