(REXBURG, ID) – The Madison Fire Department is planning a $1.5 million expansion to their station in Rexburg. KIDK reports that over the past decade, the department has nearly doubled the number of emergency calls it responds to each year. Chief Corey Child says that crews are spread too thin and that there isn’t enough room to properly house staff members with proper kitchen, bedroom, and office space. The department plans to finance the expansion with urban renewal funds, and community development block grants.
