Meriweather’s Suspension Reduced To 1 Game
Published at(NEW YORK) — Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather had his two-game suspension reduced to one on Wednesday by hearing officer Ted Cottrell. The National Football League suspended Meriweather on Monday for repeated violations of player safety rules.
During Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, Meriweather was flagged for a helmet-to-helmet hit on wide receiver Alshon Jefferey and penalized for hitting wide receiver Brandon Marhsall in the head and neck area.
While Meriweather serves his suspension, he will not be allowed to participate in any football-related activities.
