(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) — The Kansas City Royals and manager Ned Yost agreed to a two-year contract extension on Tuesday, which will run through the 2015 season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Royals finished the 2013 campaign with a record of 86-76, which is their best finish since 1989 when they ended the season at 92-70.
The 58-year-old Yost took over as manager on interim basis in 2010 after Trey Hillman was let go. He proceeded to go 71-91 and 72-90 the following two seasons.
