Oprah Releases List of Home Furnishings up for Auction
Published at | Updated at(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) — The list is out on the collection of Oprah Winfrey home furnishings that will be auctioned off next month.
The media mogul says her 23,000 square-foot estate near Santa Barbara is too grand, so she’s auctioning off gilded mirrors, marble urns, lavish carpets, figurines, memorabilia, and hundreds of other items.
One of the priciest items up for grabs is a Louis XVI chest that could go for $50,000.
Some items, like chairs, may be available for prices as low as $100.
The auction will be held on Nov. 2 at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club. The money will be donated to the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation College Fund, benefiting Winfrey’s leadership academy for girls in South Africa.
