(BOISE, ID) – Governor Butch Otter says he’s open to proposals from corrections officials about having the state take over operations for Idaho’s largest prison south of Boise. Corrections Corporation of America, a Tennessee-based private contractor, has run the prison for more than a decade, but is now dropping out of next year’s bid. The company is being investigated for ethics violations and fraud.
