Phone Scam Targeting East Idaho
Published at | Updated at
(POCATELLO, ID) – A phone scam targeting Idaho Power customers is making the rounds in eastern Idaho. On Wednesday, Pocatello city officials issued a warning to residents about a scam telling customers that they owe money, and that they have to pay with a pre-paid debit card within an hour or have their power shut off. The caller is reportedly very aggressive and several people living in the area have already fallen victim to the scam. Idaho Power officials say all account balances can be viewed online, and that they’d never ask people to pay their bills that way.
