A two-year City University of New York study examined the behavior of 3- and 4-year-old children who showed signs of hyperactivity or inattentiveness.

Unlike with older kids, a combination of parents, teachers and clinicians all contributed their observations, which revealed that 54 percent of the preschoolers were eventually diagnosed with ADHD by age 6.

The study concluded that information from multiple sources was extremely useful as opposed to observations from just teachers. The combined findings were considered more helpful because the tots were observed in various settings.

Ultimately, noticing early indications of ADHD in preschool might help adults plan suitable interventions.
