Despite their regular season struggles, the team has no plans on trading shortstop Troy Tulowitzki or outfielder Carlos Gonzalez.

“The plan is to keep them,” Rockies owner Dick Monfort told the Denver Post. “Next year, yes. Andy my plan is to always keep them. Is that the smartest thing in the world to do? I don’t know. But for our fans I think it’s the best thing to do.”

Even though they had one of the best offenses in the National League in 2013, they finished 74-88, last place in the NL West.

Hitting has rarely been an issue for the Rockies, but their pitching ranked 28th in Major League Baseball in terms of team ERA.

In 110 games in 2013, Gonzalez hit .302 with 26 home runs and 7- RBIs. Tulowitzki hit .312 with 25 home runs and 82 RBIs in 126 games played in 2013.
