Walker/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Just days following the announcement of his new book, Pandora’s Box: How American Military Aid Creates America’s Enemies, Ronan Farrow is back with big news. The 25-year old human-rights activist, journalist, lawyer and government official can add TV host to his professional repertoire. According to USA Today, Farrow will join MSNBC as the host to a weekday afternoon show tackling youthful activism.

“This is a new generation of news show for a new, more engaged generation of viewers,” Farrow, 25, said in a statement. “It’s a show about why the news matters to you — and what you can do to be a part of the story.”

Farrow is the son of actress Mia Farrow and filmmaker Woody Allen. Not to be outdone by his famous parents, the Yale-Law school grad boasts an impressive resume, including a stint as a foreign policy official in the first Obama administration.

“Ronan has established himself as a provocative, independent journalist capable of challenging people’s assumptions and empowering audiences,” MSNBC chief Phil Griffin said of the new hire. “His show will be a game changer for MSNBC, representing a fresh approach to how we deliver news.”

Farrow echoed Griffi’s sentiments adding: “I’m excited to shake up people’s expectations for cable news. And to get a ton of Twitter followers.”

The show is set to air in early 2014.

Farrow was in the news recently when his mother told Vanity Fair that she believed Ronan’s father was Frank Sinatra, not Woody Allen, as she had previously claimed. Allen has called the claim absurd.
