(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Thousands of Boy Scouts from around the region participated in the annual Scouting for Food drive on Saturday. Officials say the scouts and their leaders were out bright and early to pick up canned foods and other non-perishables, which will be donated to local food banks this week. Organizers say the scouts collected more than 380,000 food items. Those who were unable to donate Saturday are encouraged to make a personal donation to their local shelter or food bank.
