Seahawks Receiver Sidney Rice Out for Season with Torn ACL
Published at(SEATTLE) — Seattle Seahawks receiver Sidney Rice will miss the remainder of the season after he tore his ACL during Monday night’s win over the St. Louis Rams.
Before the injury, Rice had 15 receptions for 231 yards and three touchdowns on the season. The Seahawks struggled against the Rams during Rice’s absence, mustering a season-low 135 total yards.
Rice was also dealing with a knee issue before the season started. He traveled to Switzerland in August, where he underwent platelet-rich plasma treatment.
The 27-year-old Rice is currently in the final year of his contract. Since entering the NFL in 2007, Rice has managed to play in just 81 of 112 games.
The Seahawks (7-1) host the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
