Shutdown Could Impact Free, Reduced Lunches

(POCATELLO, ID) – The federal shutdown could impact free and reduced-price lunches in area schools. Administrators at District 25 in Pocatello tell Local News 8 that the district can continue funding lunch programs through the end of this month. However, unless government officials resolve the budget situation in the next few weeks, things could get much worse next month financially, and staff members still aren’t sure how they’ll handle it. The district has about 12,600 students, more than half of which are receiving free or reduced lunch.
