(EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.) — The Pittsburgh Steelers finally picked up their first win of the season after defeating the New York Jets 19-6 on Sunday.
Not only was it the Steelers’ first win of the seaoson, it was teh 600th win in franchise history.
Pittsburgh is now 1-4 on the season while the Jets fell to 3-3.
It wasn’t pretty, but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger did enough to secure the win for the Steelers. He completed 22 of 30 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown.
Antonio Brown led the Steelers with nine catches for 86 yards while Emmanuel Sanders caught 55-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter for the game’s lone touchdown.
Jets’ rookie quarterback Geno Smith completed 19 of 34 passes for 201 yards on the day. Last week against Atlanta, Smith threw two interceptions.
The Steelers were able to get their first takeaway of the season in the win as well.
Bilal Powell led the Jets with 30 rushing yards while Jeff Cumberland led teh team with four catches for 59 yards.
