Surgeon Claims Syrian Snipers Targeting Pregnant Women

iStock/Thinkstock(LONDON) — Syria is in desperate need of a “human corridor,” a British surgeon told the BBC after spending five weeks volunteering to help victims on the front lines of the ongoing civil war.
David Nott alleged that the situation has grown so dire that pregnant women have been targeted by snipers, suggesting that the assassins are probably on the side of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
Nott claimed that in one day alone, he treated six pregnant women with gunshot wounds to the uterus.
Meanwhile, a Syrian relief group has released a photo of an x-ray showing a bullet wound in the brain of a fetus although the veracity of the image has not been confirmed.
Nonetheless, Nott says that it’s imperative the international community get more involved to stop the death of innocents, adding, “The United Nations are going to have to stop talking and get some action.”
