In a statement Sunday, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons said the country met its Oct. 27 deadline. The declaration, which was submitted three days before the set date, will help create a plan to destroy chemical weapons and production facilities.

Following an investigation into Syrian leader Bashar Al-Assad’s use of chemical weapons in August, an intial agreement was reached between Russia and the United States and later endosed by the United Nations Security Council.

The OPCW, which oversee’s the country’s inspections, had experts visit 18 of the 23 disclosed sites.

The international agency will submit its report to the UN Security Council on Monday, though no details of the declaration were released.
