Woman Rescuing Food From Waste
Published at | Updated at(JACKSON, WY) – A Jackson woman is gaining notoriety for her efforts to resolve food waste in the Jackson Hole area. Ali Dunford founded Hole Food Rescue, a non-profit that collects nearly expired bread, fruits, and vegetables from Jackson grocers and then donates the food to shelters and food banks. Dunford says she’s rescued 25,000 pounds of food from being thrown away since June. She says anything left over that isn’t edible is given to farmers to make compost
