(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – The Idaho National Laboratory is laying off just under 20 support positions at offices in Idaho Falls. Officials say the cutbacks are the result of reductions in the work being done by the U.S. Army though the Specific Manufacturing Capability, or SMC. They say additional cuts may come next month for SMC workers working at the facility in the desert. The company, which employs more than 150 people, has been operating in Idaho for nearly 30 years.
