Albion Mayoral Race to be Decided by Coin Toss
Published at | Updated at(ALBION, ID) – The race for Albion city mayor will be decided by a coin toss. City clerk Mary Yeaman says the voters in the town of just under 300 people split their votes evenly between Don Bowden and John Davis during Tuesday’s election. A date for the coin toss has not been announced, though state law generally requires communities to hold coin tosses within about a week of Election Day. Although uncommon, coin flipping has been a standard for breaking ties in American politics for years, including during recent state elections in Alaska and New Mexico.
