(POCATELLO, ID) – After last week’s announcement that the Heinz plant in Pocatello was closing, community leaders are doing their best to find a replacement. John Regetz of the Bannock Development Corporation believes that Heinz could sell their facility in a relatively short amount of time, given the city’s great location and that other food-based companies are still looking to expand. More than 400 people are losing their jobs as a result of the closure. Heinz executives are working with the state Department of Labor to find jobs for former employees.
