(REXBURG, ID) – In the wake of last week’s devastating typhoon in the Philippines, local experts are warning would-be donors about scammers posing as charity workers. They say chain e-mails and Facebook links are being passed around claiming to be from people stranded in the Philippines. Some are even falsely claiming to represent real charities. Officials with the Better Business Bureau recommend visiting their website for a list of charitable organizations, and to contact those charities directly in the event that you’d like to make a donation.
