Car Crash at LAX Causes Panic; Police Say No Shots Were Fired

iStock/Thinkstock(LOS ANGELES) — Pandemonium broke out at the Los Angeles International Airport Friday night after airport officials say passengers reported shots fired.
The ensuing chaos caused panic passengers to take cover inside, as police swept the area.
Authorities evacuated two terminals at LAX but found nothing suspicious, according to airport officials.
Police confirmed that no shots were fired.
Instead, investigators say the loud noise came from a multi-car accident outside, caused when a woman suffered a medical emergency.
There were reportedly no canceled flights from the incident, just delays.
This scare comes just three weeks after a gunman opened fire at LAX, killing a TSA officer. On Friday the LA County coroner released its final report — a 22-page document — that said 39-year-old TSA officer Gerardo Hernandez died with 40 bullet fragments inside his body.
