(LOS ANGELES) — Chris Brown has checked out of a Malibu, Calif., rehab center to attend to his court-ordered community service.
TMZ reports that Brown was expected to stay for up to three months at the facility where he was receiving treatment for anger management issues. However, his lawyer, Mark Geragos, tells TMZ that the singer was required to leave so he could begin his community service stemming from his 2009 assault case with Rihanna.
Back in August, a judge sentenced Brown to complete 1,000 additional hours due to a discrepancy in his community service report.
Altogether, Brown spent 16 days in rehab following a street brawl in Washington, D.C., where he allegedly attacked a man outside a hotel. Geregos said Brown will continue in outpatient therapy.
