David DeJesus Staying With Tampa Bay Rays

iStockphoto(ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.) — Outfielder David DeJesus and the Tampa Bay Rays agreed to a new two-year contract on Wednesday, with a club option for a third. The deal is worth a guaranteed $10.5 million, and replaces the 2014 team option that the Rays exercised on Sunday.
Tampa Bay acquired the 33-year-old from the Washington Nationals in late August. In 35 games with the Rays, he batted .260 with two home runs and 11 RBIs. DeJesus began the 2013 season with the Chicago Cubs.
The 11-year major league veteran is a career .278 hitter.
