On Friday, Rivers met with Odom and described it as “a good conversation,” but that “it didn’t get much further than that.”

Odom played for the Clippers last year, but issues off-the-court kept him from playing this season. The Clippers are hoping that Odom could return and help contribute.

“I’ve always had interest in him. I’ve always liked him,” Rivers said. “The teams he’s played on and the coaches who ahve coached him have always like him, but honestly it really didn’t go much further than that.”

A 14-year veteran, Odom was the fourth overall pick by the Clippers in the 1999 draft. He spent his first four seasons with the Clippers before being traded to the Miami Heat. He rejoined the team prior to last season and averaged 4.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

For his career, Odom has averaged 13.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
