Even though prices continue to drop in the West, California still has the country’s most expensive gas.  The average in California is at $3.56 per gallon for regular unleaded. Compare that to Texas where drivers are paying only $2.99 on average.

This greatest increase has been seen in the Midwest, where gas is up 5 cents from last week to $3.12.
