( JACKSON, WY ) –  Grand Teton National Park is raising its backcountry camping permit fees. Starting January 5, walk-in permits will be sold for $25, while permits bought in advance will cost $35.  For several years, park officials have charged a flat fee of $25 for advance permits, while walk-ins were free. Park spokeswoman Jackie Skaggs says other national parks charge extra for permits in the backcountry, and that the extra revenue will be used to maintain park resources and education programs.
