Houston To Host MLB’s Civil Rights Game

iStockphoto(HOUSTON) — The Houston Astros will play host to the Baltimore Orioles on May 30, 2014 in Major League Baseball’s annual Civil Rights Game.
“The Civil Rights Game and its surrounding events are an opportunity not only for our game to honor those who have fought for equality throughout American history, but also to remind us that the battle against injustice continues,” Commissioner Bud Selig said.
A series of activities is being planned around the game, including a luncheon, a roundtable discussion about baseball and civil rights and youth baseball and softball games.
The Civil Rights Game began in 2007 as an exhibition. The Chicago White Sox hosted last season’s game.
