(NEW YORK) — The studio behind The Hunger Games is looking into the idea of building theme parks based on the popular movie franchise, Variety reports.
The trade paper says Lionsgate Entertainment CEO Jon Feltheimer made the disclosure during a conference call with analysts this past Friday. In response to a question about which areas of The Hunger Games merchandising had done well, Feltheimer said the studio had been approached about Hunger Games theme parks in two territories and the studio was considering those possibilities.
No further details were given.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth, opens worldwide on November 22.
